About The Project

HARMONY is a European project celebrating 70 years of solidarity, peace, and unity. It acknowledges the challenges posed by the economic and health crises, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project emphasizes the need for solidarity, particularly among vulnerable communities, and highlights the positive actions of citizens during the crisis. It argues for global citizenship education as a tool to address inequalities and calls for a bottom-up approach to empower citizens. The project seeks to engage diverse citizens in activities that recognize the value of the EU and promote a sense of belonging to the European community. The emphasis is on community-derived solidarity and local authorities’ intervention to address the challenges posed by the pandemic.

HARMONY focuses on two main priorities:

  • Raising awareness of reinforcing European integration based on solidarity, emphasizing the importance of meaningful participation from diverse groups.
  • Reflecting on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on local communities, with a focus on addressing social, inclusion, and economic issues, especially for vulnerable populations.
