Title: Migrant Integration Through Basketball

Project Number: ERASMUS-SPORT-2024-SSCP-101183647

Project Summary

Basket Bridges – Migrant integration through basketball is a collaborative initiative led by the Youth Basketball Club Junior in Serbia, aiming to facilitate migrant integration through basketball. Partners from Greece, Poland, Turkey, and Spain contribute to this endeavour. The project seeks to increase migrant participation in sports, particularly basketball, as a means of fostering social inclusion and cohesion. Through a series of structured activities, including toolkit development and training courses, migrant center workers will be equipped with the necessary skills to engage migrants in sports activities effectively. Local sport events will be organized in each country to promote interaction and teamwork among migrants and locals, enhancing intercultural understanding. The project also emphasizes storytelling and dissemination, using interviews before and after activities and videos to share the impact of the initiative. A comprehensive guide will be developed to serve as a resource for future similar initiatives globally. Basket Bridges aims to achieve enhanced social integration, improved basketball skills among migrants, increased cultural appreciation, and the establishment of sustainable practices for migrant inclusion. Through basketball, the project strives to promote diversity and inclusivity in communities.
